Lake County is reporting their first confirmed COVID-19 case.
Lake County Public Health Agency (LCPHA) is reporting the first positive case of COVID-19 in our county.
The patient is a 50-year-old female from Lake County and likely exposed through community transmission. Public health officials will be investigating.
LCPHA, St. Vincent Hospital, and Rocky Mountain Family Practice have been planning our local response as all have agreed it was just a matter of time before the virus came to Lake County. There is currently no vaccine or treatment for COVID-19. LCPHA, St. Vincent Hospital and Rocky Mountain Family Practice will continue to inform the community of ways to
slow the spread and take care of yourself and your family.
More than 80% of people who contract COVID-19 have relatively mild cases. People at risk for more severe cases are those over 60, especially those over 80 and those with pre-existing health conditions.
Health officials remind the Lake County community that individual precautions should be taken to limit exposure and help slow the spread.
